Inland Wetlands & Conservation Commission

The Inlands Wetlands Commission of the Town of Canaan (Falls Village) was established in accordance with an ordinance adopted in February 21, 1973.  

It is a State mandated town commission appointed by the Board of Selectmen.  Falls Village has included Conservation committee activities as the pairing compliments each other and  best utilizes the human resources of a small town.

This group of individuals has diverse expertise and training in Wetlands Management, Forestry, Farming, Conservation Science, Department of Energy & Environmental Protection and Agricultural Science Education.

The Commission has the responsibility to enforce the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Act and shall issue, issue with terms, conditions, limitations or modifications, or deny permits for all regulated activities in the Town of Canaan (Falls Village) pursuant to Sections 22a-36 to 22a-45, inclusive, of the Connecticut General Statutes, as amended.
